I am a Norwegian, watchmaker, film producer/director, author and entrepreneur.Today all my passion and time is dedicated to Von Doren Watch Company and to create distinctive, high-quality timepieces with a touch of vintage flair.
On this site you will find information about my work and interests. Links to some of my films and books, causes I care about and organizations I support. On my 12th birthday I was given my great grandfathers Swiss watch, a watch my great grandfather himself had received on his 70th birthday. Since then, I have had a profound fascination and passion for fine wristwatches, an admiration for the precision and their sheer beauty and complexity.
After pursuing a career in filmmaking and publishing, my dream: - to design my own watches - came true.

My backgroundI studied film production at The London Film School from 1985-87.
Later I worked at NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation). I was also part of the Norwegian TV revolution when I held the position as producer and part owner of Thule Film &TV. We produced a lot of programs and commercials for the very successful TV station TV-Norge. We produced the 50 first episodes of the game show: "Casino" that changed the television industry in Norway. After that I produced a vast number of commercials and TV series, short films etc. and I also founded the production company Main Island Production who now owns the rights to most of my films, including The Prince of Chess. I am Executive producer and cinematographer of the award winning feature documentary "Magnus" World premiered at Tribeca Film Festival april 2016. Main Island Production are Co-Producer of the film. I have also been a keen watch collector since mye early teens and have rotated my collection with different fine brands. Like Jaeger Le Coultre, IWC, Omega among other. I also have a fondness for vintage watches from Doxa, Waltham, Heuer etc. My most precious one is the Certina DS Automatic Turtleback I received when I was 12. Today I am proud of our Von Doren watches. 
I grew up in the Art Nouveau city of Aalesund, West NorwayA fantastic place to grow up. Fjords, mountains and clean air.
